ORANGE, FLESHY GLOBES...

WILD PERSIMMONS
Sycamore Hot Spring, Avila Beach

A walk to QUIET my mind....
And REFRESH my senses....

:: SMELL ::
the damp, musty leaves rotting on the ground

:: TASTE ::
a peppermint, found deep in my purse

:: HEAR ::
crowing of the birds, warning others of my presence

:: SEE ::
the brillant, firm, orange flesh of the wild persimmons

:: FEEL ::
the moist dampness of the fog on my face

READY TO FACE THE DAY!

  1. Your title really caught my eye! I remember as a child the persimmon tree that was in our front yard. The fruit is really beautiful. However, for some reason, the thought of eating them really grossed me out.

    I love how you incorporated the 5 senses in your post. In my mind, I could imagine it all...

  2. Lovely post...beautifully written, very poetic. The persimmon tree Heather mentions above is still here and still producing fruit. (-: have a wonderful weekend!

  3. I love the way you always include the senses. I feel how I am with you here. Beautiful. I love the photo of the persimmon. I have a persimmon tree in my garden and it's my favorite tree. I don't like persimmons (the fruit), but the birds devour it in the winter.
