 true confession!
I associate this word
with something that is...
OLD!??!

umm... a quote to reflect on...

"If wrinkles must be written upon our brows,
let them not be written upon the heart.
The spirit should never grow old."
~ John Kenneth Galbraith, Canadian-American Economist
awarded two Presidential Medals of Freedom
1946-President Truman
2000-President Clinton

WEEKWORD = BEGIN

London Street Performers ~ Summer 2010
"For most entertainers,
there is a single experience,
one defining moment,
when confidence replaces
the self-doubt that most of us wrestle with."
~ Charley Pride, American country music singer

WEEKWORD = BEGIN

London's street performers
can be found in front of
museums, in the tube stations,
at Trafalgar Square,
the Portobello Market,
in town squares,
in front of restaurants...

The performances
we watched
could be the
BEGINNING
of their professional career.

OOOO! LA! LA!

La Maisonnette du Coteau ~ FRANCE

Still have the TRAVELING BUG,
so
I've been "traveling" & reading
one of my favorite blogs,
STEPHMODO

I've never met this blogger,
BUT
we both love to
TRAVEL
we both use
RICK STEVE's books
to plan our trips abroad!!!

We relied on...
to plan our recent trip!

In case you missed our London adventures,
click
LONDON BLOG

We aren't interested in renovating
"anything"
(especially a home in another country)

but you've got to read the
first entry on
 La Maisonnette du Coteau.

...it tells the story
behind the purchase of their
French cottage.
If you are like me, you'll be intrigued
& want to see their
renovation JOURNEY...

Beynac-et-Cazenac, Aquitaine, France, Europe
 their FRENCH cottage looks over
this castle & river!

ooo, la! la!

dreamy place to rent for a week
honeymoon? special anniversary? birthday?

I'll close with
my favorite travel QUOTE...

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel,
read only a page."
~St. Augustine, Ancient Roman Theologian

"The way to get started
is to quit talking
and BEGIN doing."
~ Walt Disney, American film producer, animator, philanthropist

Disney is best known for his theme parks ~
Disneyland (Anaheim, CA)
was not far from my childhood hometown!
in fact, you can hear the evening "firework blasts"
from my mom's house!

Disney was the original voice of
Mickey Mouse; & also gave
Mickey his
BEGINNING
 character!

The new word is
B-E-G-I-N

My creative friend,
SE Minegar

WEEKWORD = NOSTALGIC

"When summer gathers up her robes of glory,
and like a dream of beauty glides away."
~Sarah Helen Power Whitman
transcendentalist, poet &
romantic interest of Edgar Allen Poe

N-O-S-T-A-L-G-I-C

SUMMER
is
disappearing!

spending the weekend
at the LAKE with family...

watching the early morning swimmers...
sipping our morning cup of coffee...
relaxing in the sun...
hopping through the afternoon...
ending with so'mores around a "toasty" fire

OHHHH....
I don't want
SUMMER
to end!

Will air out
my
lunch box...

AND get ready
for the new school year!
I loved my plaid, metal lunch box
with matching thermos...

peanut butter & honey sandwiches
fritos
celery & carrots
homemade oatmeal raisin cookies
&
milk

Now that makes me

CENTENARIAN CELEBRATION....

Woo Hoo!
100th post...

a quote from the Sanskrit
"Yesterday is but a dream,
tomorrow is only a vision.
But, today, well lived, makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow
a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day,
for it is life, the very life of life."

I can't wait to see what
colorful adventures
are ahead!

Today...
took a 45 minute run/walk
chatted w/family on the phone
enjoyed a yummy brunch of fruit salad + tamale eggs
saw the movie, "Eat, Pray, Love"
ate Mexican food for dinner

...over jet lag?

...back to work tomorrow?
YEP... and I'm
EXCITED

WEEKWORD = COLLECTION

Elizabeth chose the word this week!!

check her blog
to see what participating bloggers posted
for their interpretation of

C-L-O-C-K-S

BIG BEN
London's most famous clock

Lendenhall Market
 a covered shopping market
in London's financial district
(Victorian design)

St Martin-in-the-Fields Church

Queen's College ~ Oxford
one of many clocks in the university town

Westminster Abbey
 church famous for pageantry, coronations,
& the resting place of Britain's most famous people

Neither JPE nor I wear a watch,
so we were always looking for clocks,
having to ask people the time,
or trying to peer
(nonchalantly, of course)
at people's watches to get the time.

love this quote about TIME...
"I'm a visionary; I'm ahead of my time.
Trouble is, I'm only about an hour
and a half ahead."
~ George Carlin, comedian

For those of you that may not know,
WEEKWORD is an
online
opportunity to "create"
(draw, write, photos, personal story etc)
your interpretation of a
single word that has been
selected by the "HOST" blogger.

It's a great way to meet & see the creativity of
other bloggers.

You just need to let the "HOST" blogger
know you want to participate,
so they can link your blog to their blog!

Try it! It's such FUN!

What
C-O-L-L-E-C-T-I-O-N-S
do you have???

post by Friday evening!
