Sorry - this is a LATE post for WEEKWORD! No internet access for the past few days!!
Last Friday's WEEKWORD was B-O-O-K!!
destination = Washington DC |
"OUR GREAT ADVENTURE" (Washington DC) |
three generations = author, SLE & Mom/Nana |
The following pictures are some pages of the book I made to commemorate our travels!
map of Smithsonian Mall |
during our trip, I collected paper ephemera from museums, tourist stands, etc... you know, the throw-away sort of information you pick up when traveling (NO COST!!)
added purchased travel stickers...
National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) |
more pictures...
and hand-lettered "narrative" to remind us what we learned at the American Indian Museum!
I also included information from our hotel & it's location on the map...
Loved this quote, "Never go on trips with anyone you do not love." I traveled with my mom & we met SLE in Washington DC.

This is such a beautiful book with so special memories. We loved the NMAI as well - it was one of my favorites - and we loved the food there. The theatre was so unique in there, we enjoyed that a lot and watched the movie two times because it was so special.
ReplyDeleteYes, Chris, please show more of your special books, they're wonderful.
Wow, I love your book - such special memories and so creative. I loved sharing a similar experience with my mom and kids about 15 years ago (but I didn't make a cool book). Inspirational. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteYou win for best book post hands down, how frickin cool is that book!!! I love all the the little pieces to it and definitely the quote. I'm going to go back through your post and look again at all the goodies and remind myself to actually do this right after the trip rather than what I tend to do which is collect all the free paper treasures and then let them sit in a corner for months. Intentions-hell-you know that saying...
ReplyDeleteLove it Christine!! I'll be this week's host and pick a word tonight!

ReplyDeleteI think it is totally wonderful how you create these books of memories. A personal family history in the making. Well done what a great way of preserving stories of your life.
ReplyDelete(hopefully this comment is without all the spelling mistakes :))
I love your little travel book! I made one or two (although not that neat), some more successful than others. My honeymoon one, for instance is still in pieces after three years!
ReplyDeleteI love your mini-book. It looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it, love it. I'm inspired!
