I missed blogging this past week!
I was in Sacramento --- spending my days reading --- scoring grants doesn't seem as if it would be difficult --- but I got tired of sitting, pencil in hand, blurry-eyed --- such long days!
BUT, it WAS great to see my friends
from all parts of California.
Glad to be home!
This week's SCAVENGER HUNT SUNDAY "finds" are: HAPPINESS, SPRING IN BLACK & WHITE, FAMILY (or FAITH), FUZZY & GATHERING (or PROVIDE).
Hop over to RAMBLING & PHOTOS for a peek at the other SHS postings.
HAPPINESS |
HAPPINESS is spending time "browsing" --- fabric stores (especially all the buttons), craft stores (ahh, paper & pens) & spending some time with Allie-Bug... last weekend, we spent some time at the fabric store & a yarn shop.
SPRING in BLACK & WHITE |
Clipped some "flowering jasmine" to enjoy in the house --- a little touch of SPRING IN BLACK & WHITE (actually, the blossoms are white with a tinge of pink - see first photo)!
BTW --- the blur is an audio CD that I've almost finished. Have you read The Language of Flowers, by Vanessa Diffenbaugh? you must --- it's a fabulous read!
FAMILY |
These tins remind me of FAMILY! As a child, a FAMILY treat was a foil wrapped box Cracker Jack's! I especially loved those little prizes. My daughters, SLE & ACE, would probably say their favorite FAMILY treat was So'Mores (graham cracker, a bit of milk chocolate & a toasted marshmallow) made over a campfire.
FUZZY |
Last weekend at Allie's, as the sun was going down, I noticed this FUZZY, orange & navy blue cloud, floating across the sky.
GATHERING |
It's happening! our cottage cheese ceilings are coming down. The contractor will scrape, retexture and add crown molding. To save money, we're happy to have them use their standard ceiling paint (Behr - Swiss Coffee & I don't remember the color for the crown molding). I'll be painting the walls in our condo --- JPE & I started GATHERING paint colors. SOOO excited!
Okay - so, I challenge you to get your camera out & join us for SHS. To get you started, here are the words to look for this coming week: WALKING, YUMMY to my TUMMY, FAVORITE TOY, WHAT I DID THIS WEEK & ANYTHING (I think this means, your choice)!!

Great take on gathering...I hate those awful popcorn ceilings.
ReplyDeleteThose tins are great, I have a few from my family as well.

Gorgeous shots! Love those buttons!
ReplyDeleteNice grouping of pictures for this week's hunt. The buttons and their containers are cute and I can only imagine how lovely the jasmine smelled.
ReplyDeleteI missed you...wondered where you were. You must be looking forward to summer. New ceilings, crown molding and new paint ~ how exciting! It is going to look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow....I WANT those tins! They are certainly treasures to have!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I love the fuzzy cloud and the tins.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how fast time flies when "browsing" in those craft stores. It makes me happy too. I love the vibrancy of all your photos - well done!
ReplyDeleteFlowering jasmine - one of my favorite flowers. In fact I have perfume that has jasmine in it, I like it that much.
ReplyDeleteLove the buttons shot too-so cute!
Nice choices for the prompts.
ReplyDeleteThe Family shot was so nostalgic, what great tins.
How fun to visit the craft stores, they make me happy too.
Jasmine pretty in BW & gorgeous in color.
Craft stores...be still my heart. Love those little tins, did bring back great memories. And remodeling is always fun!!
ReplyDeleteLove those buttons! I don't sew but I love buttons. :)
ReplyDeleteThe toys in Cracker Jack just can't compare to what we used to get.
That cloud behind those trees has such lovely colors - nice capture!
Those tins are great! You are the third person who has mentioned that book this week! I think I'd better add it to my "to read" list.
ReplyDeleteThose buttons are so adorable... the family shot is a blast from the past for me...I loved getting a box of cracker Jacks as a kid..always sticking my hand in an feeling around for the prize...
ReplyDeleteBeing the old geezer that I am I really liked the old tins. But they predate even me. When our dad went on business trips he would bring brother and I each a three pack of cracker jacks. Oh we were in hog heaven. Strangely enough I had never heard of smores until I was well over 30 years old. I also like going to craft stores with my camera. Lots of photo ops but now I know to check the buttons. I'm also a lot more interested in stuff like paint, crown molding and such.
ReplyDeleteSweet shots - love those buttons in Happiness
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset in fuzzy! I really like your interpretation for that prompt too!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful, Christine!
