My brother, Tony, is a landscaper! he sent us some super-dooper fertilizer! this year's roses are better than they've been for years - the deer had eaten them to the nubs for at least 3 years! I guess they must have heard JPE (hubs) muttering about just pulling all the remaining rose bushes out! (the deer left & haven't been back). Best of all - we plant only fragrant roses - so our house smells nice too!
Of course! I should have known Tony's green thumb would rub off on you and that he would know of the best fertilizer and share it with you. The roses are so brilliant but I could really tell they are healthy by the lush foilage. My roses are okay when they first flush out in spring but I have to fight rust and black spot like crazy the rest of the year. I don't like to spray them so I just hand pick off the diseased leaves.
