WEEKWORD
examples!
I'm afraid I didn't get very creative this week!??
It's a stretch...
but, ROSES have thorns that feel like
TEETH
on your skin...
and, don't forget how sharp PUPPY TEETH are!!!
like little needles!
Great photographs and you are so correct, if soemthing is small (and sometimes not so small) punctures or "bites" into our skin then we think of them like teeth. Of course when that happpens words may be used which never could be used in the weekword slot! :)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about roses too (but I killed my only potted rose), aren't the little indentations on the leaves called 'toothed'?
ReplyDeleteDid you know that roses actually have prickles? It's one of those weird botanical vocab things, but thorns are actually a very specific structure that is formed from a modified stem or branch, whereas prickles are extensions of the epidermis of a plants structural parts, kind of like hairs. I always think of roses thoguh then I think of toothed since native roses have serrated leaf margins that are often described as toothed :)Oh and any excuse for puppy pictures is awesome!

ReplyDeleteOh yes she definitely toothed all over my arms and hands when they were coming in. Only managed to find two of her baby teeth. What about me being the tooth fairy for Halloween, twice! Does that mean that, "I toothed it." Slang.
